Tathra continues dominace over Bega

Tathra headed into Bega last Saturday keen to turn around there bad start to the season with a match against arch rivals Bega/angledale.(Picture The Boys were very happy to get there first win) When Adam finally won a toss Tathra elected to bat and new look opening pair of Pete Bennett and Ben O'Rielly got us of to a great start putting together a opening stand of 48 (the biggest of the year) but once again tahtra middle order struggled to find any runs. With tathra in trouble at 6 fro 118 out walked Young Adam Elliot smashing 21 valuable runs in typical tathra style getting off the mark with a single then getting the rest of his runs in boundary's. Tahra ended up with a total of 162. Best with the bat for tathra were Pete Bennett with 35, Ben O'Rielly with 29. With the ball in their hands the boys set out for early wickets. when bega best batsman was out for duck bega knew they were against the wall and all reports that come in were that bega were lucky to get to their total of 143. Pick of Tathra bowlers were Wayne Dunham with 4/22 and Adam Blacka with 3/28 both of 8 overs. young Adam Elliot look good with the ball but was unlucky to get his first scalp in A grade. On one bad note it looks like Tathra has lost Pete Bennett for the season with a knee that is need of help so if anyone has one they can pass on it would be greatly appreciated.

2nd loss on the trot

Tathra had there 2nd loss in as many weeks on Saturday going down to Eden at Eden. With Eden winning the toss and electing to bat Tathra got off to flying start picking up 2 early wicket. Tathra maintained pressure throughout the innings to restrict the home team to a modest total of 122runs after 40 overs. Best bowlers for tathra were Adam Blacka, Chris O'Donnell and Pete Bennett all picking up 2 wickets a piece. on a high note fielding awards must go to Pete Bennett who once again showed his fine form in the field. With the job only half done the Nico and Pete strode out to the middle getting us to 28 before a wicket fell. but once again tathra struggled to get partnerships going to be bowled out for just 77 runs with chief run getter's being Pete Bennett with 25 and Chris Heart getting 26 with a broken foot. Eden wicket taker were Tim Bowes getting himself 6 wickets and M Bell getting the 3. With the boys lining up against Bega Next week they are hoping for a better result.

Blacka off to bad start as Captain

Tathra got off to a bad start to the season on saturday going down to Pambula by 65runs at lawrence park. With Pambula winning the toss and selecting to bat. Tathra bowlers controlled the flow of runs by the pambula batsman well restricting there total to only 167 runs on a lightning fast outfield. Tathra's attack were led by new opener Chris O'donell who finished with figures 2-26 of 7 overs. Other Tathra bowler to get wicket's were Wayne Dunham and Chris O'Brien. With Chriso's knee needing a rest after his spell of bowling that brought super sub Conner Finucane onto to the field and with his first touch of the ball helped himself to runout by throwing down the stumps from 50m away. With the Pambula inning brought to a close is was Tathra turn to head out with the bat and lads were confident of being able to chase down the total. But they didin't get of to a good start with Pete Bennett diciding to leave a ball only to find off stump being knocked out of the ground. With most Batsman not bothering the scorers too much It was captain Adam Blacka who led the way with knock of 59 closly followed by sundries as the next highest total of 12. Jack Biilamn was the pick of pambula bowlers picking up 4 wickets for 11 runs. With boys heading down to Eden next week for another tough game hopefully we turn the result around and get the first win up on the board.
